It's not how business has always been done . . . it's how Vision does business better!

Biomass is any organic matter that can be burned for energy.
We can burn anything with a reasonable BTU and moisture content, as long as it isn't hazardous waste.  Vision's sources include:

Biomass and the environment
Biomass is a "green" sustainable resource; it's constantly being formed by the interaction of air, water, soil and sunlight.  If biomass is not used for chemical or energy purposes, it's broken down again by micoorganisms into its elementary constituent parts:  water, carbon dioxide and energy in the form of heat.  So when people use biomass as an energy source - regardless of whether it is a foodstuff, a source of heat for generating steam or electric or in the preparation of automotive fuels - they are simply mimicking nature's perpetual biomass cycle.

Carbon dioxide buildup in the atmosphere is considered by many to be the primary cause of global climate change.  Fossil fuel combustion takes carbon that was locked away underground, as crude and gas, and puts it in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.  However, when wood is burned, it recycles carbon that was already in the natural carbon cycle.  The net effect of burning wood fuel is that no new carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere, as long as the forests from which the wood came are substainably managed.  Therefore, when wood replaces fossil fuel, the net impact is to reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere significantly.
